Veneers are a natural-looking cosmetic dentistry option that can dramatically transform your smile.
Whether you want to enhance a single tooth or several teeth at once, veneers can be used to:
- Close small gaps
- Even out tooth length
- Improve slightly crooked or misaligned teeth
- Cover internal discoloration
- Repair chips
- Refine the overall size and shape of your teeth for a more uniform appearance
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front of the tooth and wrap slightly around the sides and biting edge so the result looks smooth and seamless. To prepare for veneers, a very small amount of enamel (typically less than one millimeter) is carefully removed from the areas that will be covered so the veneer sits flush with the natural tooth and does not feel bulky. The veneer is then bonded in place using a strong dental adhesive, which is hardened with a specialized curing light to create a durable, long-lasting attachment.
Types of veneers offered:
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are the most durable and highly aesthetic option, ideal for patients seeking a long-lasting smile makeover. They are crafted in a dental laboratory to your dentist’s exact specifications using multiple thin layers of porcelain that closely mimic the color, translucency, and shine of natural tooth enamel, with fully customized size, shape, and shade.
Composite Veneers
Composite veneers are created from tooth-colored resin, either directly in the dental office or with the assistance of a lab, and are typically more budget-friendly than porcelain. They can effectively improve tooth color, shape, and size and are well suited for less extensive cosmetic changes, but the composite material is more prone to staining and generally does not last as long as porcelain.
Instant Veneers
Instant or prefabricated resin veneers come in standard shapes and sizes and are not custom designed to match the exact contours of your teeth. Because they are not individually crafted, they usually cannot provide the same level of fit, natural appearance, or durability as custom veneers, so we do not recommend instant veneers as a long-term solution.
