Veneers are a natural-looking cosmetic option capable of delivering a dramatic smile transformation.
Veneers can be placed on one or more teeth to address a range of aesthetic concerns, including gaps between teeth, uneven lengths, slight misalignment, discoloration, chips, minor crookedness, and size or shape issues that affect overall appearance. Each veneer covers the front face of the tooth and wraps slightly around the sides and biting edge. Before fabrication and placement, each tooth is gently prepped by removing a thin layer of enamel, typically less than one millimeter, from the areas the veneer will cover. This allows the veneer to align seamlessly with the natural tooth contour. The veneer is then bonded using a strong adhesive and cured under a specialized light to lock it in place.
Types of Veneers:
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are the most durable and aesthetically refined option available. Custom-built in a dental lab from multiple layers of porcelain, they closely mimic the translucency and texture of natural enamel. Every aspect, including size, shape, shade, and fit, is fully tailored to the patient.
Composite Veneers
Composite Veneers are made from resin material and can be fabricated in-office or in a lab. They are more budget-friendly and can improve tooth color, shape, and size effectively, though composite is somewhat more prone to staining and tends not to last as long as porcelain.
Instant Veneers
Instant Veneers are prefabricated and come in a range of standard shapes and sizes but are not customized to the individual tooth. Because they can’t match the fit, appearance, or longevity of custom options, we do not recommend them.
